AlpPack’Aosta – The route
The mountains are bigger than nation states. When the French-Italian border was drawn in 1861, the mountainous Duchy of Savoie was divided up between the two countries. Despite this cleaving, 160 years later, the two valleys of Aosta and the Tarentaise remain so closely bound that the older paysans can still talk in a common dialect, or patois. The border is just a line on a map.

Alpine Kingdom
The AlpPack’Aosta will take you on the ultimate mountain bike journey through this alpine kingdom. Starting in the Tarentaise, we ride over the border and into the heart of the Aosta valley.
We’ll be riding from nearly 3000m right down to the valley floors over 2 vertical kilometres beneath. We’ll use van and chairlift uplifts to keep the pedalling and hike-a-bike sections accessible to a wide range of riders.
Using two 4* bases for the week, there is some luxury at the end of each day and a minimum of bag packing for a point to point adventure.
Ultimate Highs
We’ll be riding the very finest singletrack adventures near to classic riding spots like la Thuile, Aosta, les Arcs, the Matterhorn and Mt Blanc. Our mountain bike tour will take us around the northern end of the historical Duchy of Savoie.
